Mirage Las Vegas

Mirage - 3400 Las Vegas Blvd. Las Vegas Nevada 89109. 800-374-9000

One of the more upscale & higher priced Strip properties, although they are fading in comparison to newer, more glamorous properties like Wynn, Encore, Venetian, Palazzo, Trump and Bellagio. Almost every visitor to Las Vegas stops in front of the Mirage at least once to watch the simulated erupting volcano show (which is actually some flames fueled by natural gas.) There's an Outback Steakhouse across the street, you might get what they call the "best seat in the house" which has a perfect view of the volcano while you dine. The casino scenes of Chevy Chase playing blackjack in "National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation" were filmed here. Visitors to the Mirage often complain of the rooms being small so you might want to book a suite here. We haven't stayed at Mirage yet but did stay at Treasure Island in December 2007. Treasure Island was originally intended to be a second room tower for Mirage. And the rooms are pretty small. Steve Wynn built Treasure Island and sold it to MGM Mirage, who sold it to Phil Ruffin for $755 million.
