Polo Towers is a "timeshare resort" but also offers short term rentals like a hotel. A time share involves buying a unit of time (typically a week) which you can use once per year. The difference between booking a hotel room for a week and buying a one week timeshare is that you rent a hotel room but own a time share. The difference seems mostly theoretical to us. Owning a condominium for one week per year, is not really owning a portion of the condo but rather the right to live there for a week each year. Time shares are difficult to resell so think long and hard before purchasing one.
