Riviera - 2901 Las Vegas Blvd South, Las Vegas NV

I've never stayed at the Riviera but have visited this property many times. The casino is huge with a pleasant atmosphere (not too
crowded or noisy), there's a fast-food court at the south entrance to the property and a small video game arcade.
If you like playing for nickels, the Riviera has an entire area devoted to nickel slots & video poker called
"Nickel Town" (photo on the right.) I would feel kind of silly about winning a thousand nickels ($50) although many
people will counter with the statement "money is money." Also, many casinos have converted to ticket payment instead
of piles of coins. The slot machine prints you out a ticket that you can either cash in or feed to another slot
machine instead of cash. I prefer the tickets but the majority of players seem to enjoy "feeling the money";
scooping hundreds of coins into little plastic buckets. The sound of coins dropping into the metal tray also
adds to the casino atmosphere; although there is still plenty of noise coming from the machines when they're not
spitting out coins. After a few days in Las Vegas, you'll find that silly slot machine electronic music playing
back in your head for several days after you're back home.
