The Tropicana is one of the few remaining "original" old Las Vegas casino resorts (along with Caesars Palace, Sahara, Flamingo, Circus Circus and a few others.) Normally a property this old gets imploded and rebuilt or something new goes up. The Tropicana has a reputation as a "budget property" but many visitors give them a good review. If you have to select an inexpensive property, I recommend the Trop over Excalibur, Imperial Palace, or the old north strip properties (Sahara, Stratosphere, Circus Circus, Frontier, Riviera.)
