Vector graphics consist entirely of shapes (lines, points, curves) which are based on mathematical equations. Therefore they can be scaled to any size with no loss of quality,
unlike raster graphics (which include JPG and PNG formats) which are based on a finite number of pixels and have a limitation as to how large
they can be printed. The vector graphic file is basically a series of mathematical equations and instructions
which describe how to create the image.

There is
a free vector graphics program (Inkscape) you can download here.
Urbanphotos.net vector graphics are all derived from photographs. These vector images contain less detail than photos but the advantage is that there is no
print size limitation. Whether you want to print a 6 foot wide poster or 50 foot wide billboard, the image will look
exactly the same as the
small JPG sample image displayed here...it will just be much larger. There is no loss of quality.
Any photo displayed on this web site can be converted into SVG and EPS vector graphic formats. Just click the "Buy Now" button
above and specify the volume numbers and file names of the image(s) you would like to purchase as vector graphics. They will be e-mailed to you
the same or next business day (often within a few hours.) Or you may request a sample JPG before purchase by sending an e-mail.
You may also request high detail (close to photo quality) or low detail (similar to a painting or drawing.) Examples of both high and low
detail vector graphics are included in the sample gallery. If you don't indicate a preference your graphic will be high detail.
Low detail is a good option for obscuring people's faces or potentially trademark protected items that may appear in the photo.
